Ashis and the New Education Development Project
This project has been running for 12 years but is currently undergoing renewal with new young
leadership, guided by the retired senior leader.
12 young men each day take bags of Bibles, New Testaments and Bible selections, DVDs, and general health booklets to sell in the bazaars, bus stands and train stations. The prices are low but the books not free - people choose to buy what they want and learn from what they read.
Each year approximately 200,000 items are sold!
Secondly, regular team seminars provide rest and teaching and spiritual growth. Each one is also enabled to pursue their general education through to degree level.
Thirdly, by selling these books, the young men support their families. Most of the books come from the Bangladesh Bible Society.
